Suncity School celebrated the 77th Independence Day with a vibrant and heartfelt observance on August 15, 2024, hosted by our enthusiastic students and fabulously presented in front of their families. The day’s festivities were marked by a series of culturally-enriching performances designed to ignite and fortify the spirit of patriotism in all of us.
The programme began with a grand march past by all four houses, setting a tone of discipline, unity and pride. This was followed by a delightful tableau created by students of our Early Years Programme, aptly titled ‘Sashaktikaran’ which captivated the audience with its colourful and expressive rendition. The students of Grade 5 then took centrestage with their captivating drill show, ‘Phoenix Fusion’, showcasing unparalleled precision and energy that left everyone in awe.
The celebration continued with a stirring rendition of a patriotic song, ‘Dharohar’, performed with passion and reverence. The culmination of the day’s events was a mesmerizing dance drama titled ‘Parakram’, which eloquently portrayed India’s rich cultural heritage through dynamic choreography and compelling storytelling
Our esteemed School Chairman, Mr. Ankit Goel, and the School Director, Mrs. Rupa Chakravarty, proudly hoisted the National Flag and awarded certificates to the winners of the inter-house patriotic song competition, for the Best March Past, and felicitated the topper of Grade XII, Anushka Vohra. Their achievements were recognized with admiration and appreciated with loud applause.
The entire school community came together to pay tribute to the sacrifices of those who fought for the freedom we cherish today. The festivities concluded on a jubilant note as everyone engaged in the traditional and joyous activity of kite flying, symbolizing hope and the soaring spirit of independence.
